Interview– Curt Nichols; Glade Optics

Curt Nichols is the founder of Glade Optics, which provides ski goggles, helmets, and eyewear to the outdoor mountain community.

In 2016, Curt began his career at a market research firm in Boston, where he helped retail companies transition from brick and mortar to the digital economy. With access to high-level decision-makers in the retail space, he became adept at market strategy, branding, and advertising - helping these businesses navigate the new consumer economy.

Soon Curt saw an opportunity to combine this knowledge with his passion for skiing. In 2016, Curt launched Glade Optics as a side project and creative outlet on nights and weekends. Within two years sales grew enough for him to walk away from that job, and focus full time on building his dream business.

Deciding to be closer to the community he was serving, Curt moved to the ski town of Breckenridge Colorado where he lives today. As his business flourished, so too has his lifestyle.

Curt and his wife Katie, spend their winters skiing over 100 days a year while mountain biking, paddling, and fly fishing in the summers.

In this conversation, follow his journey from a cubicle in Boston to the ski slopes of Colorado - connecting with his customers and maximizing his lifestyle.
